Grudge Not

February 28, 2024

The journey’s too short to hold onto a grudge.
It’s not up to me to critique or to judge.
If I’m looking for faults, I have plenty inside.
When I look in the mirror, there’s no cause for pride.

The journey’s too short to find fault and complain,
To focus on trivial, trite, and mundane.
There’s abundance of beauty, if only I see,
Look beyond the irrelevant, set my soul free.

Why focus on gnats and not clouds in the sky,
Or an eagle who’s gliding and soaring on high?
I’ve not been appointed as judge in a court.
Why waste precious moments, the journey is short.

Lord help me to focus on what I can give.
As I reach out to others, I learn how to live.
