The Quiet Times

February 25, 2024

In life I’ve had my share of thrills,
Some ups and downs and even spills.
But times that I remember most
Are quiet times when I could coast.

Those times when I could steal away,
A peaceful, blissful, quiet day.
Out in the boat before first light,
Throw out my line, hope they don’t bite.

A quiet time there by the shore,
Those quiet days I’ve known before,
Spent with my dad, just father, son
Time to relax, not hurry, run.

Those memories I still hold dear,
Their echoes now are still so clear.
