I’m just an apprentice on my journey here,
Preparing for service and what lies ahead.
There’s much more to life than at first it appears,
As I learn how to listen and follow where led.
The Lord sent us His Spirit to guide and to lead,
To help us to pray when we don’t have the words,
To help us decipher the words that we read,
To give us assurance our prayers have been heard.
Lord help me to follow as You show the way.
Help me to listen to You with my heart.
Give me the assurance I need for today,
That You’re walking beside me, You’ll never depart.
Your love’s everlasting and one day I’ll be,
At last, in Your presence, made whole, and set free.
