In the midst of the hustle of Christmas this year
I urge you to pause and to listen and hear.
Take time to be silent, just quiet and still.
Reflect on the prophets, their words were fulfilled.
The Christ Child was born as the prophets foretold.
His birth is remembered though centuries old.
It began in a manger where Mary gave birth.
God’s Son became man and he lived on the earth.
Such humble beginnings for one to be king,
Predicted by prophets, of whom angels sing.
He came not to reign but to give and to serve,
To give us new life we’ve not earned nor deserve.
Take time to reflect, to give thanks and believe
The true gift of Christmas is yours to receive.
