Old men share stories, they tell of the past,
The stories from childhood that linger and last.
They’ve lived a full life but aren’t likely to boast.
They share about life, things that matter the most.
If you’re privileged to listen to stories from men
Who’ve lived a long time and remember back when,
You’ll learn about history not found in a book.
You’ll learn about valor, the courage it took.
You’ll learn from the stories the old men will tell,
They loved God and country, they served us all well.
The cost of our freedom took many away.
They carved out the future we’re living today.
It’s an honor to hear all the stories they share.
Their wisdom is precious, like gold it is rare.
