I tend toward nostalgic this time of the year.
Past Christmases whisper inside of my ear.
Reminders to cherish the ones that remain.
It’s more about giving, it’s not about gain.
A time to reach out to each other in love,
Recall how the angels sang praises above,
Gave glory to God, proclaimed peace on the earth
The night in a manger that Mary gave birth.
It’s a time to remember, to be of good cheer.
May the joy of the season be with us all year.
May the love in our hearts find a way to be shared.
May our words and our actions show others we care.
Remember the Christ child who taught us to give.
He gave up His life so that others may live.
