To learn from the knowledge that others have gained,
Through the diligent study of what they attained,
To build on foundations we know to be true,
Expands our horizons to see something new.
Not all that is written is solid and sound.
It’s sad, but deceptions and falsehoods abound.
The beginning of wisdom is finding the light,
Discovering truth and discerning what’s right.
I find when I pray that the Lord helps me see,
Decipher, determine if I can agree
With the words that I’m reading or hearing each day.
So much information is coming my way.
Lord help me find wisdom that You can impart,
And let it take root, Lord, inside of my heart.
