Sometimes we convey with a smile or a touch
Heartfelt affirmation that’s needed so much.
A simple acknowledgment offered, received,
Can lift someone’s spirit who’s hurt or deceived.

Perhaps they’ve lost confidence, no longer thrive,
It seems a great effort each day to survive.
Reach out to the weary, sincerely in love.
Be a prism refracting God’s light from above.

A gesture of kindness, a simple embrace,
Conveyed by your eyes and a smile on your face,
Can help restore energy needed today,
That at times gets depleted, life drains it away.

When we share with another we’re energized too.
Perhaps it seems strange, but I know that it’s true.
