Sometimes I need a resting place,
A respite from life’s hectic pace,
A time to pause, just rest my soul,
Allow the moment to unfold,
A peaceful place, where I can find
Some solitude to ease my mind.
It need not be a mountain top,
A meadow where the rabbits hop,
But just a tiny place apart
Before the day begins to start.
A time to seek the Lord and pray,
And hear the words He has to say.
For me it is a pleasant time,
To pause and pen some words of rhyme.
