As I look back at life and the friends I have known,
Some only casually, others quite well,
I value them all, and the kindness they’ve shown.
We all have a journey and stories to tell.
I find it uplifting time spent with a friend,
Allowing our minds and our souls to compare
Two different journeys, perhaps comprehend
A different perspective, become more aware
Of how others view life and the way they perceive.
Some backgrounds so different, it’s hard to relate
To the pathway they’ve walked, it is hard to conceive,
See how they can cope with the things on their plate.
Even though it takes time we can find common ground.
We are, after all, from the same human race.
I pray there’s some good in us all to be found.
I know that we all are in need of God’s grace.
Lord help me find wisdom, and vision to see,
No matter how different two journeys may be.
Thoughtful words for sure. I have the same thought but unable to word as nicely.
This is very meaningful especially for my diverse group that meets regularly
