Lord help direct my words today.
It’s not just things I long to do,
But also, what I choose to say,
That should align and both be true.
When I mess up, I make amends,
But can’t erase the things I’ve said.
But words like kind and gentle friends
Can give encouragement and spread.
I pray for wisdom and control
Of words I use and what I say.
“Lift others up” should be my goal.
I pray that’s true of me today.
Lord help me be both gentle, strong,
Share words that linger like a song.
