I need time every day to relax and reflect,
To search in my heart where my spirit resides.
I cherish that time, I don’t often neglect,
Shine light in the crevices, let nothing hide.
It’s easy to let all the other stuff fill
All my time and neglect to be still and to pray.
But I lose my direction not knowing God’s will.
I need Him to guide me and show me the way.
For me it’s a pleasure to capture in rhyme,
To write down the thoughts as they come to my mind,
A way to remember each morning, each time
That I spend with the Lord and the words that I find.
It’s a blessing to share them, to let others see,
To take a few moments to set the words free.
