Immunity combined with herd,
Quite common now to hear the word.
What once brought cattle, sheep to mind,
Now testing stations, cars in line.
Perceptions of the words have changed,
No longer picture open range.
We’re grouped into a huddled mass.
Will we have changed once this has passed?
Have we become mere creatures now?
Are we less human, changed somehow?
No longer masked, we’ll see each face.
Combined we form the human race.
We’re more than beasts who roam the earth,
We each have spirit, soul at birth.
I pray we learn to love once more,
Show more compassion than before.
