Why complicate life chasing rainbows or clouds?
A life that is simple, away from the crowds,
A chair on the patio, time spent alone,
With no interruptions, not even a phone,
Time to write poetry, contemplate life,
Sharing my words, spending time with my wife,
Sipping hot coffee and petting my pup,
Seeing the colors that come with sunup,
Watching the birds as they swoop through the air,
Feeling the breeze as it ruffles my hair,
Sun highlighting colors of butterfly wings,
The gentle soft sound of the chime as it rings,
Reading God’s Word, bare my soul as I pray
Are moments I cherish to start off my day.
