Buzzits

June 21, 2021

It’s summer, the temp is beginning to rise.
I’m sharing the shade with the bugs and the flies.

Not even the churning can keep them away,
In spite of the fan, they’re determined to stay.

I’ll give them permission to share in my space,
But only as long as they stay in their place.

I don’t really care for their buzzing around,
I don’t even like it when they make their sound.

But once they get pesky, they sting me or bite,
They’re no longer welcome, they’re in for a fight.

Citronella laced candles will melt in the flame,
Enticing the critters to give up their claim.

This ongoing battle once more has begun,
An annual battle not easily won.

I’ll spray on repellent when I go outside
Accepting the fact, that’s where buzzits reside.
