For fifty-three years we’ve been husband and wife.
We’ve grown old together we’ve had a good life.
I pray there are many more days that we share.
Our love is still strong, and we know love and care.
We’ve seen many places as we’ve taken trips,
Some with a camper, some cars, planes or ships.
We’ve lived several places, north, south, east, and west.
We’re both native Texans, we like it here best.
Our life spent together has weathered some storms.
We know it takes teamwork and others will form.
We love all the friends that we’ve made through the years.
We’ve shared with them laughter, some good times, and tears.
I pray as we’re well into years they call gold,
That we’ve grown a bit wiser and not simply old.
I pray we find ways we can share what we’ve learned
Through trials and hardships, some lessons hard earned.
