Mixed Reviews
It’s early morning, skies glow pink,
Alone with God with time to think.
This week evoked some mixed reviews,
The vertigo, the CT views,
“Stay overnight, we must observe.”
The MRI threw me a curve.
“Remove a square out of my head?”
I felt a peace, not fear or dread.
“Remove some bone, insert a plate,
Protect your brain, no altered state.
“It’s not a rush. Continue life.
You’re free to go. Care for your wife.
“We’ll set a time to talk this through.
We’ll form a plan that’s best for you.”
I do not know what lies in store,
A different future than before.
