When I come to a crossroad and must choose a way,
I ask the Lord’s guidance to show me the way.
I reach out to friends and ask them to advise
As expert consultants I know to be wise.
Sometimes the decision is easy to make.
There are times it can lead to a costly mistake.
To change my direction and face the unknown
May bring on discomfort outside of my zone.
Am I set in my ways after too many years?
Can I try something new? Can I conquer my fears?
I must know in my heart, as I search deep inside,
That my motives are pure, not ambition or pride.
If the Lord calls my name will I hear and take heed?
What path will I take if I follow His lead?
Though I walk through a valley or up on a hill,
I pray I’m alert, always seeking His will.
