When life appears it might unravel
Sometimes I take the car and travel,
Park in a shade among the trees,
Get out and walk and feel the breeze.
Stop to hear the woodland sounds.
The birds sing out, squirrels scamper ‘round.
Inhale the air, look toward the sky,
I see an eagle, watch him fly.
It clears my head to take a break
Before some task I undertake.
A quiet place to rest and pray,
Give thanks that God’s prepared the way.
Refreshed, recharged, my soul at rest,
So many ways I know I’m blessed.
With eagle’s wings I long to soar.
Above the trees I see much more.
