To put into words feelings deep from the soul
Gives them birth and a chance to sprout roots and take hold.
To give voice to the words so that others can hear
Provides understanding of things we hold dear.
When we’re open and honest and share how we feel,
We build bridges of trust, allow friendships to heal.
What’s gnawing inside may come just from our mind.
Perhaps other’s virtues and motives are kind.
We’re none of us perfect of that, I am sure.
We don’t know all the trials that others endure.
I condone understanding with love and with grace.
We all are a part of this shared human race.
I pray I am humble and not quick to judge,
Never end friendships by holding a grudge.
