A smile or a howdy won’t likely offend.
They both cost me nothing. I give them for free.
Perhaps I will find that I make a new friend.
Sometimes they just pass and pretend they don’t see.
Someone who’s hurting may need a good smile.
Perhaps someone’s lonely who needs a kind word,
Needs someone to talk to it’s been quite a while,
Needs someone to listen, and know they’ve been heard.
If you’re hurting or lonely there’s someone who cares.
His love’s everlasting. He keeps every tear.
He’s ready to listen. He hears every prayer.
He offers you peace. He will drive away fear.
Don’t count on a person to meet every need.
Reach out to the Lord and then follow. He’ll lead.
