Thankful

November 23, 2022 (Thanksgiving poem a day early)

As I give thanks Thanksgiving Day,
And bow my head to pause and pray,
Express the thanks inside my heart
For those I love, though far apart,

I pray dear Lord they’re safe and warm.
Protect them Lord through all their storms.
For those who risk their lives to serve,
May they be blessed for strength and nerve.

For those who help our children grow,
Inspire them to learn and know,
I’m grateful Lord they help us learn
To open books, to read, discern.

Lord bless those near and far away
With grateful hearts Thanksgiving Day.
Lord fill each heart with joy and love
That radiates from God above.

I’m grateful Lord that we are free
To worship You on bended knee.
