A mentor is weathered yet seasoned by time,
And graced by maturity, lessons well earned.
Discovered the peaks and each step of the climb.
Is able to share all the wisdom discerned.
A mentor’s not perfect but willing to share
From the reservoir filled by the journey through life.
The message falls softly, is spoken with care,
Learned from experience, troubles, and strife.
We all need a mentor who touches our heart.
One who can help us when reading God’s word.
Help us find answers and wisdom impart.
Help us to see, understand what we heard.
I pray you have someone in whom you confide,
With whom you can pray and is close by your side.
