The day draws near to turn back time,
An extra hour in our day.
Could we slow down the spread of crime
If we took extra time to pray?
Perhaps this year try something new.
Instead of catching up on sleep,
Or finding one more chore to do,
Take time to pray, the chores will keep.
A quiet time to pray and read,
Alone with God to give Him praise,
Lay at His feet our every need,
Ask Him to guide our path, our ways.
Let’s lift our voices, God will hear,
Not just one day, but all the year.
