If I let the routine, the mundane cloud my view,
It can change my perspective, I’ll miss something new.
If I look for the beauty I see all around,
The rhythm of music, the sweetness of sound,
If I let my mind travel to places I’ve seen,
Snow covered mountains, lush meadows of green,
Remember my future is more than today,
Then the cares of the moment start drifting away.
I can read in the scriptures what prophets foretold.
The songs and the praises though centuries old,
Still tell of God’s love and bring comfort to me.
They give me perspective and help me to see.
Lord help me remember the words in Your Book,
They’re refreshing each morning, I just have to look.
