My words in old fashioned, traditional rhyme
I pray stir some memories, images past,
Bring joy to our hearts perhaps lost for a time,
Reminders of treasures, of things that will last.
The rhyme and the rhythm, though centuries old,
Still warms my heart writing in verses this way.
Life has a way of refining the gold.
I pray words I’m sharing won’t soon fade away.
I pray that they linger and stay for a while,
Warm other hearts reading the lines that I pen.
Sometimes it’s a sigh, other times it’s a smile.
I share what I find when I venture within.
If I share from my heart and not just from my mind,
I pray that it’s wisdom I’m leaving behind.
Such lovely words, John! Always a blessing to read your work!
