There’s a longing inside me that’s hard to explain,
That keeps seeking to soar, fly above the mundane.
As I’m searching for words to express what’s inside,
I keep flushing out feelings still trying to hide.
Can I journey beyond what is just in my mind?
If I try to probe further, then what might I find?
How far should I reach when I probe in my soul?
I know there’s no treasure like silver or gold.
Why am I searching and digging so deep?
Perhaps share with others what’s not mine to keep.
God said in His image we’re formed, and we’re made.
God left us His imprint; I pray it won’t fade.
One truth I’ve discovered by searching inside,
There’s a place that’s reserved where God’s Spirit abides.
