Quiet Time Rhymes

Life’s frantic pace can pull at me,
It does not breed tranquility.
It’s peace inside I long to find,
A peace that soothes my heart and mind.

I’m drawn to scriptures for my soul,
Their wisdom’s deep, though ages old.
“Be still and know that I am God,”
Still brings me peace, my soul applauds.

My soul finds rest and then my heart,
A lasting peace won’t soon depart.
When I take time, pause quiet, still,
Spend time with God and seek His will,

Remember God is in control,
I find His peace within my soul.

As years begin to take a toll,
My energy begins to wane,
I must admit I’m growing old,
But pray my life was not in vain.

I find these days as I slow down
And have more time to pray and write,
I’m more content, God’s peace I’ve found.
Lord thank you for Your truth, Your light.

You’re always there to lead the way
If I take time to listen, hear
To what the scriptures have to say,
You give me strength throughout the day.

I pray dear Lord each day I find
Contentment in my heart and mind.

Amidst a busy schedule that is filled with all my plans
I can end up too distracted to ask God to lead the way.
If I listen for His guidance, if I reach out for His hand,
He’ll teach me what’s important, what His Words to me convey.

Lord help me keep my heart attuned to listen and to hear
The words you have to say to me, to place inside my heart.
It’s not a sound that’s audible, like whispers in my ear,
But rather something beautiful that sets Your words apart.

Lord show me ways to spread Your love to those in need I see.
Lord keep my focus fixed on You no matter where I go.
You sent Your Holy Spirit Lord, to live inside of me,
I pray that I can listen Lord, learn things I need to know.

Regardless of my schedule Lord, the things I’ve planned to do,
I pray that I can hear You Lord, each day learn something new.

I need my time with God alone,
Allow His Word to come inside,
To walk into His Glory zone,
To sit with Him and there abide.

Sometimes a quiet silent prayer,
A passage from His holy Word
Will still my soul, help me prepare
To focus on the words I’ve heard.

Sometimes I write so I preserve
The precious moments that I spend,
The images that I observe,
A glimpse of glory without end.

Lord You’re the strength inside my soul.
Your Holy Spirit makes me whole.

Lord I pray that the words that come up from my heart,
The ones that I capture before the day starts,
Proclaiming the truth that I find in your Word,
Spread Your love and Your blessings wherever they’re heard.

I pray they encourage wherever they’re read.
I’m grateful for spiritual food I’ve been fed.
I’m thankful Your words written so long ago
Provide the nutrition my soul needs to grow.

I pray that Your Spirit will help me discern
The lessons from scripture that I need to learn.
I’m grateful to follow, Lord You shine the light.
I pray You are pleased with the words that I write.

I pray as I share that I help others see
That You came to bring life and to set our souls free.

I pray my eyes can clearly see
The truth that sets me free.
I pray I grow, mature, and learn,
Each passage I discern.

I pray Your words take root inside
Forever to abide.
I pray I read and hear each day
Lord what You have to say.

I pray for wisdom from above
To help me share Your love.
I pray the words and lines I pen
Reflect Your love within.

I pray each day the words I write
Help others see Your light.

Pen rhymes that touch others in need.
If I don’t hear the call,
I help no one at all.
Lord help me to follow Your lead.

A quiet place alone to pray,
To be with God in solitude,
A perfect way to start my day,
Express my love and gratitude.

The One who put each star in place,
Who formed the earth, the land, the sea,
Extends to all His love and grace.
He even hears a prayer from me.

You know me Lord, not just my name.
You know my heart, my soul, my mind.
I give You praise, Your love proclaim,
No greater love I’ll ever find.

I’m grateful Lord for time with You.
Your love is real. Your Word is true.
