If I find myself down, in a bit of a funk,
And I droop like an elephant hanging its trunk,
Don’t know what to do, what to think, or to say,
I search for some sunshine, if only a ray.
I pray I find gratitude hiding inside,
I’m sure I could find it if I really tried.
I’m grateful for showers that come in the spring,
New leaves on the trees, and the birds how they sing,
For flowers and rainbows, the colors they spread,
Aromas and fragrances dance in my head,
Visions from childhood, the smell of fresh rain,
Winding through mountains aboard an old train.
I’m grateful for good times I’ve had in the past.
Fond memories, my treasures, preserved, made to last.
I pray you find sunshine to brighten your day,
I pray you feel love that I’m sending your way.
