We each are a part of an intricate chain
That extends through the ages, a tie we sustain.
Each link is unique and instilled with a soul.
We’re not forged to be separate but part of a whole.
A link that is bigger and stronger, secure
Is able to help many others endure.
No link’s more important than all of the rest.
We each have a role and we give it our best.
We all need each other to make it through life,
The good times and bad times, the laughter and strife.
I value the presence of those I call friends,
Those trusted companions on whom I depend.
I pray as I write, and I share from my heart,
That the chain is made stronger by doing my part.
