The Journey

No matter the journey, how long is the road,
There’s rest when it’s finished, someday at the end.
The Lord’s always with me to lighten my load.
Each day’s an adventure. What’s ‘round the next bend?

I can’t see the future or what it will bring,
A mixture of sunshine and thunder and rain.
Lord grant me the courage in hard times to sing.
You pen every verse of my life, each refrain.

Lord give me direction to follow Your lead,
Keep my focus on others and what I can do,
How I can help to reach others in need.
Lord mold me and shape me to be more like You.

One day when my journey through this life’s complete,
I’ll be in Your presence, bow down at Your feet.
