Inside my heart in song I sing,
Rejoice God sent His Son to earth,
To reign on high, a newborn King.
The angel came, announced His birth.
The shepherds watching o’er their herd,
Upon a hill that starry night,
The angel spoke, his voice they heard.
They saw God’s glory shining bright.
A host of angels joined in song.
Sang praises to the Lord on high
In harmony the heavenly throng
With melody that filled the sky.
The shepherds went to Bethlehem,
Found Mary, Joseph, and the child.
They shared the angel’s words with them,
A special moment, tender, mild.
A baby’s birth, so long foretold.
For centuries it’s been retold.
