Why do our hearts fill up with hate
To poison minds, invade debate?
Instead of different points of view,
The insults rage and venom spews.
Will statesmen rise to change our ways,
Restore again more civil days?
I long to hear a clear calm voice
Lay out a path, provide a choice.
Lord raise up leaders is my plea,
Wise leadership to keep us free,
Who lead with strength, integrity,
Not filled with pride or vanity,
Who work together, form a plan,
Keep freedom strong throughout our land.
