Fall’s in the air with a chilly north wind.
The summer reluctantly comes to an end.
A taste of the winter that soon will unfold,
Sometimes bringing with it a fierce bitter cold.
The winters get harder each year to endure.
Aging comes naturally needing no cure.
Our winter’s upon us that last stage of life.
We’ve grown old together as husband and wife.
One of us likely will be left behind
Remembering days that were tender and kind,
Recalling the places, the memories shared,
The everyday moments, the love and the care.
We’ll cherish the days for us both that remain,
As we finish together life’s final refrain.
