Life is a vapor; I know it won’t last.
How quickly the present fades into the past.
But my spirit’s eternal the part that moves on
To meet my creator who sits on the throne.
My life’s full of choices to make while I’m here,
To learn how to live, and to laugh, shed a tear.
My life won’t be measured by silver or gold,
Nor earthly possessions to clutch and to hold.
My treasure’s in heaven, it comes from the heart,
How much I help others before I depart.
I pray as I’m sharing these words put to rhyme
In some way I’m helping and not wasting time.
I find joy in writing words I believe true,
And also, in sharing my heartstrings with you.
I pray that the words that I capture in love,
Will lift you today like the wings on a dove.
