Not Alone

May 8, 2020

I’m free to live my life each day,
The steps I take, the words I say.

I choose instead to seek your will
In morning prayer, alone and still.

Amazed each day the peace I find,
While sifting through days left behind.

The joy and peace that You provide
Outweigh regrets and stubborn pride.

As I look back, I see You there,
Abiding love and patient care.

You watched me try to be so strong,
But it was you, Lord, all along.

You let me try life on my own,
But then, like now, I’m not alone.

Now in my golden years of life,
I still encounter stress and strife.

This time with You to start my day
Restores my faith; You’ll guide my way.

In you, I glide on angel’s wings.
You bring me joy and my heart sings.

Thank you Jan. We were blessed with exceptional teachers in a small school setting.

I like all the poems, etc. that I have read, but I especially like this one. Every time I read something by you, I think of Lawrence Clayton and know that he would be very proud of you.

I pray that things are going well for you and Lee. God bless, keep and guide you.
