Spiritual nourishment, food for the heart,
Quietly reading before the day starts.
Prayerful reflections well up from inside.
Words stir from the depths where emotions reside.
Words offer solace when skies fill with cloud.
Words provide light when I’m wrapped in a shroud,
Words bringing hope, pushing darkness away,
Words of elation to brighten my day.
I read words of wisdom although they are old,
The value they offer’s not measured in gold.
I’m grateful for writers and words that they pen,
Who reach deep inside as they share from within.
Some can share beauty with canvas or clay,
Others through stories that songs can convey.
I’m grateful for peace that I have in my soul,
I pray I touch others; my words fill a role.
