The image before us comes in through our eyes.
The sounds all around us we gather with ears.
As we see with the heart, we begin to grow wise.
As we learn how to listen, we truly can hear.
The Lord works in our lives in mysterious ways.
He molds us and shapes us and helps us to see
His love’s everlasting throughout all our days.
Why waste time in bondage when we could be free?
Why focus on things of this world that don’t last?
Our life on this earth like a vapor will fade.
The present so quickly fades into the past.
Our spirit lives on though our bodies degrade.
Lord help me to see and to hear with my heart,
To focus on treasures that never depart.
