I’ve come to embrace a more simplified day,
One that brings no surprises, no good news or bad.
Time alone before dawn helps me view it that way,
Allowing my soul to breathe easy, be glad
That the Lord has allowed me these silver edged years,
A time to slow down and a time to reflect
On the past that’s been marked by both gladness and tears,
To spend time with the people I love and respect.
I don’t know years that the future may hold,
But I now know the number is not my concern.
I trust in the Lord, He’s the one in control,
No matter what lies up ahead ‘round the turn.
I pray that no matter what future days bring,
My heart still rejoices, continues to sing.
Dear John,
I don’t always breathe “easy”, but know the Lord is there to help me “breathe easier”…I only need to remember that I can always talk with Him, rely on His love, and listen for His words of wisdom and guidance. Praying for Lee, and you, for the Lord to assure you both of His love, to bring comfort and relief of pain when needed, and to guide the minds and hands of doctors making decisions and providing needed and relieving care. Your gift of “rhyme” is a blessing!
