If I’m constantly looking for something brand new,
Something grand, something large, I might overlook small.
It’s not about grandeur or what I accrue,
If my life’s void of love, then I’ve nothing at all.
Sometimes it’s the smallest of things that I give.
Simple gestures of love often do the most good.
I’m not measured by wealth but the way that I live.
Without love a hard heart becomes petrified wood.
As I’m watching and waiting and looking for ways
To reach out to others through words that I write,
Then I pray I help others and brighten their days
By sharing God’s love and reflecting His light.
I find satisfaction in simple and plain.
I pray I share love as I pen each refrain.
