A dove stopped by to say hello,
Just taking in the morning glow,
Soon spread its wings and flew away,
No parting words, goodbyes to say,
Perhaps to find a long-lost mate,
Who long ago found heaven’s gate.
I’ve often heard doves mate for life,
So many seasons, husband, wife.
Throughout the days and nights they share,
They form a long and lasting pair.
Expressing love they sing their song.
They know together they belong.
Somewhere afar I hear its coo,
Somewhere up there where skies are blue.
