When I think about stopping this writing in rhyme,
Consider what else I should do with that time,
I ask if they truly have value or worth,
These verses that form as I give the words birth.
The verses keep forming inside of my brain.
I jot them all down as I write each refrain.
I wonder if ever this rhyming will end.
How long will they linger these verses I’ve penned?
As the words come together, form verses and flow,
I pray they fall quietly, gently like snow.
I pray like a lullaby soothes a small child,
My words offer comfort, bring peace for a while.
As long as words come, it’s my pleasure to write,
Watch them soar through the air as the verses take flight.
Thank you.
And always such a pleasure for us to read, John!
