We all are a part of just one human race.
We all need each other to hold and embrace.
Contact with others, restricted these days,
Has brought about changes, in so many ways.
What will it do to our long-term existence,
If children are taught to maintain social distance?
Not sure I can tolerate life without touch.
I’m missing the contact I value so much.
I often now hesitate, “Fist bump or shake?”
Asking “Are hugs worth the risk that I take?”
I’m weary of distancing six feet apart.
It’s hard to communicate, share from the heart.
Until we’re no longer in fear of a bug
I offer my words as a virtual hug.
