I love to paint a scene with words
That comes alive when read or heard.
I love to capture thoughts in rhyme
Before they fade away with time.
Like sun and clouds mix brilliant hues
Each morning brings me something new.
Scenes from my soul mix in my mind.
Sometimes the words are hard to find.
Some swirl inside as gentle breeze
That can be felt or seen in trees.
Others come more like a storm.
I hold on tight and let words form.
We’ve all been through a tough few years.
We’ve shed some tears and conquered fears.
Some days it seemed were truly blessed,
While other days seemed like a test.
Perhaps with words I can convey
What bubbles up inside each day.
Perhaps, if shared, the words will last,
Provide a glimpse into the past.
I pray I always find some good,
That scenes I paint are understood.
