No matter the target I set as a goal,
It’s not up to me, it is God in control.
Whatever I try to achieve on my own
Is as useless as asking for bread from a stone.
I can worry and scurry but know deep inside
I can put aside worry, relax and abide.
He’s my refuge in hardship, He dries all my tears,
And when I need comfort, He calms all my fears.
He’s my rest when I’m weary from running life’s race,
My time to find peace as I slow down my pace.
He’s the wind at my back on a hot sunny day.
His water’s refreshing whenever I pray.
Whenever I listen, take time to be still,
Spend time in His Word to determine His will,
I find life more simple, and easy to bear.
I’ll rest in the shadow of His love and care.
