I come to You to find true rest.
I read your Word, there is no test.
My mind can focus on your Word,
Until I know my heart has heard.
You give me shelter from the storm.
Inside, a quiet peace takes form.
I thank you Lord for each new day,
For time with you to read and pray.
I need that time alone with You
To start each day, however few.
You wrote my life, from start to end.
I live each page that you have penned.
You know what day will be my last.
I’ll switch from present tense to past.
Until that day I’ll write your song,
And sing your praises all day long.
I thought this was beautiful and what I took from it is that John was saying that God it the one that started our life here on earth and is the only one that knows when that life on earth will end and become eternal life in heaven——-so there is really not a living without the presence of God for he is always with us and will never leave us.
Thank you John, this was peaceful !

Excellent point! Only this earthly existence will be finished. Indeed, we’ll live forever in the presence of the Lord experiencing fullness of joy like nothing here on earth.

Nooooo! We will never be past, always living in the present, in the presence of the Lord. I like those memorial services where they use present tense for their loved one. We will be more alive then than we have ever been!! “In your presence there is fullness of joy, eternal pleasure in your right hand”
Certainly like your rhymes and do read it prayerfully every day.
